“Brimming with environmental, social and ecological benefits, this outstanding single origin coffee supports some 300 coffee farmers in a reforestation project around the Mount Elgon region of Uganda. The project provides a safeguard for Mount Elgon National Park and Central Forest – one of the most diverse ecosystems in Africa – by reducing pressure on resources. The coffee rewards farmers in and around Mount Elgon to protect the forests by planting trees and reducing a dependency on clearing forests for firewood, which in turn protects hundreds of animal species including forest monkeys and antelope which graze on the mountainside.”
